February, 2005 - Ibara Melano By: Submitted: 2/3/2005
 | | Mark Ibara's infamous melano | February's Betta of the Month is a spectacular black melano HM bred and raised by the incomparable Mark Ibara of Hawaii. This fish has gotten kudos from several top betta breeders I know as the best black melano they have ever seen, and I have to stand in full accord. Finnage, form, and color are without fault, and I feel fortunate just having fish from a related line to work with!
This fish was so good that it was actually stolen from Mark at a betta show. As heinous as I think this is, I only hope that the guilty party at least got a few decent spawns from this fish.
Does your betta have what it takes to be Betta of the Month? Is he brilliant? Quirky? Funny? Just absolutely drop-dead gorgeous? Send his photo to Betty Splendens and tell us why you think he deserves to be Betta of the Month!

Breeding Bettas - For Fun and Profit? Several times a week I get emails from people wanting advice on how to make a profit selling bettas online.
